American Heart Association 2004 Heart Walk

On October 16, 2004, we walked in the Bryan/College Station AHA Heart Walk. This year we walked in memoriam for Joanie Allen (age 26, HRHS), Kolbey Bancroft (age 2, DILV, HRHS), and Logan Daves (age 2 months, HLHS), as well as in honor of our son, Justin, and the many other CHD survivors.

In less than a week, our team, the Sharby Congenital Heart Team, collected $900 in donations to support CHD research, awareness, and screening, in addition to research on heart disease and stroke. Our local AHA chapter agreed to send 50% of our team's donations to the AHA Legacy of Life Endowment so that we could directly support CHD issues. The local chapter also gave us booth space at the heart walk, where we were able to display a banner on "Birth Defects" and have flyers, "Heart of a Child" CDs, and bumper stickers available.

Team members were Toby, Sharon, and Justin Dunn and Jady, Missy, and Wyatt Stevens.
