Who We Are
We are Toby and Sharon Dunn, parents of Justin Dunn, who was born April 2, 2000, with a critical congenital heart defect. The JDCHF is a nonprofit organization.

What Our Mission Is
To support CHD research, awareness, screening, and support of families by raising funds through methods that promote awareness and support the outreach of families affected by CHDs.

Where Do Our Funds Go?
Donations go 100% to our selected causes. A small portion of the sale price of CDs, quilts, or other fundraising items goes to production cost, and all other proceeds go to one of our recipients.

Recipients of funds at this time include:

AHA Legacy of Life Endowment

Texas Children's Hospital (grants for research, equipment, or families)

Family support fund (from which we select families in need of medical supplies, expenses for hospital stays, travel expenses, gift baby blankets, or toys) Note: While we primarily support local families who use Texas Children's Hospital, we love to help others we hear of through online groups as we are able.

Trust fund for Justin Dunn (a small percent of proceeds of sales of Heart of a Child CDs are set aside to compensate for the difficulty Justin will have obtaining health and life insurance as an adult).

How Can You Help?

Make a tax-exempt donation to our nonprofit foundation.

Order a "Heart of a Child" CD.

Order a "Mending Hearts" quilt with a special child's name, diagnosis, and date of birth in the center square (where our Texas design is).

Tell others what you know about CHDs and how they affect lives every day.
